DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputy who hit and killed a pedestrian last month won’t face a vehicular homicide charge.
First-year Deputy Eden Terrazas was responding to a call last month when she took a curve too fast and lost control hitting 44-year-old Natividad Nunez, who was walking along the road.
The DA’s Office has determined there was no proof deputy Terrazas had intentional disregard for the safety of others.
The DA’s Office says Terrazas will face less serious charges, but did not give details.
The deputy has been pulled from patrol and is on desk duty.
