APD investigates southeast ABQ stabbing

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – APD officers were dispatched Friday to the 400 block of Mesillas southeast Albuquerque on reports of a stabbing.

Officials say the victim was with his girlfriend when the two stopped to check out a yard sale and were confronted by an unknown male.

They victim and the man began to argue while the victim tried to convince the man he did not know him. The suspect then began to stab the victim causing injury to his abdomen, wrist and pelvic area.

According to police, responding officers located the victim at a medical facility in the 8200 block of Central. The victim was taken to UNM Hospital and officials say he is stable.

APD said detectives will take over the investigation at this time.

No suspect information has been released.
