Today will be the last cool day as a weather disturbance works through the state. Expect a few lingering showers across the south and over the Northern Mountains this afternoon. The rest of the state will see clearing skies through tonight. Friday will feature more sunshine and much warmer temperatures as afternoon highs warm to near normal.
The warm up continues into the weekend as highs warm 5° – 15° above average. Albuquerque will reach the low 80s, but much of east central and southeastern New Mexico will soar into the 90s. The winds remain on the lighter side throughout the weekend, but start to pick back up into next week. This will lead to higher fire danger Monday through midweek.
