Mark’s Wednesday evening forecast and weather report

A storm will drop into the state on Thursday and spread snow over the northern mountains with scattered showers possible over the lower elevations. No area is likely to pick up a lot of snow or soaking rain but quick hitter showers or light snow accumulations are possible. The chance for showers will diminish late on Thursday.

Another factor with this system will be the wind. Winds will crank up in the metro area during the overnight hours. Gusts could top 40 mph from the east. Winds will likely stay strong through Thursday morning then they should die down.

Friday and into the weekend temps will rise under sunny skies. We’ve been well below average temp wise all week. That will change in a big way with highs in the 80’s by Saturday. On the down side winds will come up a bit throughout the weekend. But those winds will be nothing like what we had last weekend.

Keep an eye on next week. The models like another storm coming in around Thursday. Stay tuned! provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
