John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

The day began in Albuquerque with quite a bit of dust obscuring the Sandias. As temps warm up this afternoon, some of that haze will lift, improving visibility. Despite warming up some this afternoon, afternoon highs remain cool as the northwesterly flow continues to dominate. Today will also feature even less wind than we’ve seen the past four days.

The wind returns Thursday as a weak storm passes through the state. A few spotty showers will be possible, with snow over the higher terrain. Thursday’s storm will also bring the winds back. This weak storm will quickly clear out late Thursday, making way from dramatic improvements for the weekend.

Winds come back down on Friday as afternoon highs warm by 10° – 15°. This will bring us back to near normal for temperatures. The warm up continues for Saturday and Sunday with highs up to 10° above average. The weekend is still set to feature less wind and lots of sunshine as well! provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
