Vigil planned to honor novelist

SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) – Western New Mexico University students have a special vigil planned Tuesday to remember novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Marquez was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1982. He died at his home in Mexico City on April 17.

A group of students and writers will gather to read Marquez’s work and to hold a candlelight vigil.
