Tesla close to naming future factory sites

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Tesla is close to naming two different sites to build its $5 billion battery factory.

New Mexico is one of four states in the running for the factory that would create around 6,500 jobs.

The Bloomberg News reports Tesla plans to break ground on at least two sites, in different states, in case there’s an issue in getting the factory up and running within three years.

Tesla’s CEO said they want to minimize the risk timing for getting the factory up and running.
