NMSU students earn national recognition for Quad Copter

LAS CRUCES (KRQE) – The creation of some New Mexico State University students is getting national attention.

The students created what’s called the Quad Copter as part of a regional competition.

It’s a small unmanned vehicle that can fly, put out a fire and carry cargo.

They were voted People’s Choice, were named best in show and best pilot.

They got third place overall in the competition but are an alternate for the international competition.

The vehicles will make an appearance at the next Aggie football game, carrying in the game ball.
