ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Rustam Khabilov is not a man of many words. But, he expresses himself quite well in the Octagon.
The Russian born MMA fighter calls New Mexico home these days and will headline the first ever UFC card in the state. Khabilov will take an 18 and 1 record into the June 7th card at Tingley Coliseum when he faces Benson Henderson.
Henderson has a big name and is a former UFC and WEC champ. He is also currently the number one lightweight contender in the UFC.
Khabilov is excited about the challenge and headlining in a place that has become special to him.
When talking about the fight Khabilov said, “I’m very happy about this fight because Albuquerque is like my second home. I stay here four years. I train here 4 years. This is good fight for me. I don’t think it’s good fight for him.”
