Jobs, programs cut at New Mexico College

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Jobs and programs are being cut at northern New Mexico College in Española.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that regents approved a budget this weekend that immediately came under fire.

The budget eliminates three educational programs, seven faculty jobs, two part-time staff jobs and three that are already vacant.

Regents say the cuts will save the financially strapped school $500,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
