Good Samaritans help catch accused robber

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Good Samaritans helped catch the man who robbed an 87-year-old woman at knifepoint.

It happened Sunday in the parking lot of the Kmart near Central and Atrisco.

Police say the man pulled the woman out of her car, holding a knife to her while demanding her keys. The woman says when she dropped her wallet the man forced her to the ground, grabbed the wallet then fled.

That man, identified as 34-year-old Dennis Victorino, did not get far.

Witnesses chased him and cornered him next to a dumpster. They then waited for police.

Officers say they found a knife in Victorino’s pocket.

He was already wanted for failing to appear in court on drug possession and other charges last year.
