CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Clovis baby is recovering at a Texas hospital Monday after she was run over by a car this weekend.
Police say a woman driving a black SUV hit the child’s grandma then struck and dragged the stroller she was pushing.
The child’s mom says her daughter flipped out of the stroller and the vehicle ran her over with its front and back tires.
The baby has a broken femur and a fractured hip, but is expected to survive.
Police haven’t said who is at fault, only that family was in a cross walk when the SUV made a right turn and hit them.
“I completely understand that it was an accident I don’t harbor any hard feelings my whole family forgives her,” Chelsea Grossnicklaus said.
At this point the SUV driver is not facing any charges.
