Enjoy the quiet and mild start to your Saturday because by the afternoon the winds are going to be cranking in the entire state. Wind advisories and high wind warnings for gusts from 55-65 mph continue for the entire state. Winds could be so strong they could cause some damage to roofs, knock down power lines and/or trees.
As far as precip chances go for this weekend, Northwestern New Mexico and the Northern Mountains have the best shot for rain/snow this afternoon into Sunday. A front is going to roll through this afternoon and that will trigger scattered storm first around the Four Corners then the rain will change over to snow late tonight over the northern mountains. Areas above 8,000 feet could pick up 4-8″ while lower elevations will pick up 1-3″. Much cooler air moves in tomorrow and winds will continue. Stay with KRQE News 13 for more weather updates.
