Third rape suspect identified

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – UNM Police Department says they have identified the third suspect accused of raping a female student earlier this month.

UNMPD said they will not release his identity until charges are filed but they did obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s DNA Friday.

The investigation began when a female student reported to UNMPD that Lobo athlete Crusoe Gongbay, former UNM student Ryan Ruff and an unidentified man gang raped her in a car and dropped her off at Casa Dorms on April 13th.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact UNM Police at 277-2241 by phone or online at police.unm.edu and submit an anonymous tip.
