New details in death of woman hit by Rail Runner

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Surveillance video is providing new details about the death of a Santa Fe bicyclist, hit by the Rail Runner.

Suzanne Lebeau, 60, was hit on Saturday near Saint Francis Drive and Zia Road.

Police say video shows Lebeau crossing St. Francis with the traffic signal as soon as she successfully crossed the road she kept going on the pedestrian path, and was hit by the train.

That path does not have crossing arms.

Investigators said the conductor did blow his horn but Lebeau didn’t stop.

Investigators did not find any headphones at the scene, so it’s unclear why Lebeau didn’t hear the warnings.
