Nation’s largest Pow Wow kicks off in ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Native American dancers are gathering in Albuquerque for the 31st annual Gathering of Nations Pow Wow.

The three-day event, North America’s largest Pow Wow, draws hundreds of competitive dancers and tens of thousands of spectators from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The event kicks off Thursday with the Miss Indian World Pageant, where 23 Native American women from different tribes will compete.

The crowning of Miss Indian World will take place Saturday night at the Pit.
