Lobo athlete accused of rape to appear in court

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) = A judge is allowing New Mexico running back Crusoe Gongbay to return home to Maryland once the semester ends while he awaits trial on rape and kidnapping charges.

The 20-year-old turned himself in Monday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a female UNM student.

He had an initial appearance Wednesday in metro court and a judge agreed he could remain free after posting bond.

Gongbay has been suspended from the team indefinitely.

Another man, Ryan Ruff is in jail for the crime and investigators are trying to identify a third men. They expect to release a composite sketch of him Friday.
