John’s Thursday Afternoon Forecast

Today will be very nice with less wind, lots of sunshine, and warm temps. The wind returns Friday afternoon as a storm system nears the state. Once the winds return, they will be here for several days. The storm enters the state over the weekend. How much of the state gets showers will depend on the track, but right now, the north and west look to be favored for showers. Some high mountain snow will be likely across the north.

Regardless of storm track, two things are certain. There will be some high winds across the entire state, followed by cooler air. Winds will gust up to 60 mph across the east Saturday and Sunday, while the rest of the state could see gusts as high as 45 – 55 mph. Winds die down some early next week, but remain on the windy side.

Cooler air will also rush in by Sunday. Temperatures will fall from near normal on Saturday to 10° – 15° below normal on Sunday. This cooler air mass is potent and will keep temperatures well below average much of next week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
