ABQ man indicted on hate crime charges

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A federal grand jury has indicted an Albuquerque man accused of leaving anti-Semitic messages at a Jewish deli in Nob Hill.

John Ng, 58, is facing two counts of hate crime charges.

Ng is accused of writing Jewish slurs on mailing labels then placing them on the door of Nosh Deli back in January.

The FBI arrested Ng last month.

According to a criminal complaint he threatened the owner and interfered with her business because of her religion.

Ng remains in federal custody pending the outcome of psychiatric evaluation.

If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison.
