Thousands of bees removed from vacant ABQ house

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Most of the bees are gone now.

Tuesday hundreds of thousands of bees were removed from a vacant home in southeast Albuquerque.

A neighbor we spoke to earlier this month said they had been stung several times.

The safe city strike force stepped in and told the owner they had 10 days to remove the bees and on Tuesday they did.

KRQE News 13 is told 99 percent of them were removed.

They are using honey to lure the rest out.

If the owner did not fix the problem they would have had to go to court. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
