Roswell police investigate stolen dog cases

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell police may have a serial dognapper on their hands.

They are now investigating a fifth case of a missing dog that appears to have been stolen.

In all the cases the dogs have vanished from their own property and the pet owners say they know their animals didn’t just run off.

The latest case was Monday afternoon when someone stole a 4-month-old puppy.

Witnesses say they saw two people in dark clothing snatch the dog from the family’s van that was parked right outside their house.

The owner says the stolen pit bull worth $500.

Roswell police say they’re continuing to investigate all of the missing dog cases.

They’re not sure if they’re all related. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
