Residents could see higher water bills

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Residents have done such a great job of conserving water in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County that the could start paying more for it soon.

The Water Utility Authority is making less money because people are using less water.

At a meeting Wednesday night, it’s going to look at a 5 percent rate hike that would start in July.

That means most of our bills would go up about $3 a month.

We’ll let you know what the Water Authority decides.
