Manzano State Park reopens

MOUNTAINAIR, N.M. (KRQE) – Manzano Mountains State Park is now open.

The park was closed for two years because of federal budget cuts and high wildfire danger.

The park, which is located near Mountainair, was only open in spring and summer, but now there’s a full-time ranger assigned to the park in hopes of keeping it open all year.

An open house is set for 1 to 4 p .m. Sunday. There will be demos featuring birds of prey.
