Couple charged following crash

BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico couple is now facing charges following a rollover crash that injured four people, including two children.

The crash happened south of Bloomfield on Sunday.

Deputies found a woman, a man, a 3-month-old and a 3-year-old when they arrived, but the father, 28-year-old Robert Williams, had apparently fled the scene.

In addition to child abuse charges, he’s facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

The toddler’s mother, Nicole Begay, was also arrested.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but deputies say alcohol may be a factor.
