Prospective owners to make changes to Chamisa Hills

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The businessmen who are about to buy Chamisa Hills Golf Course and Country Club say they have to raise membership prices.

According to the Rio Rancho Observer, Jhett Browne and Robert Gallagher plan to close on the Rio Rancho property May 1.

They say the club will be improved, but they also said membership prices have to go up or there would be no club.

The current owner is selling because he can’t afford the water bill.

Another big change to the club is its name. The prospective owners said it will be called “Club Rio Rancho.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
