Judge bumps NM rep from ballot

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Monday, a judge removed democratic state representative Sandra Jeff of Crownpoint from the June 3 primary election ballot.

The judge ruled that because she did not submit enough valid signatures on her nominating petition, she’s out.

Jeff is a maverick democrat who has sided with republican Governor Susana Martinez on several key issues in the closely divided house.

No word yet on whether she will appeal Monday’s decision.
