NM buyer purchases gun possibly carried by Wyatt Earp

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A gun thought to have been carried by Wyatt Earp during the famous o.k. corral shootout has been sold to someone from New Mexico.

A telephone bidder here bid $225,000 last night for the Colt-45 revolver which was valued somewhere between $100,000 and $150,000.

Some historians have doubted the authenticity of the gun because the serial number on the gun has been destroyed.

The identity of the bidder has not yet been revealed.
