ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The owner and founder of Garcia’s kitchen passes away, Andrew Garcia was 90 years old.

Garcia starting as a travelling salesman, selling novelties at the New Mexico State Fair and eventually moving into operating food booths.

In 1975 he opened the first Garcia’s Kitchen at 4th and Mountain in Albuquerque.

“The personality of the owner, Andy Garcia, is also evident in every aspect of a Garcia’s dining experience, from the bright paintings of himself, to the colorful Fiesta ware dishes, and of course to the great food.” (
