New company could bring new jobs to ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A new tenant is moving into the old Schott Solar building in southeast Albuquerque and they are bringing jobs with it.

Information Technology Company Nova Corporation announced Thursday it has signed a lease with Schott for 213,000 square-feet of space in two buildings at Mesa Del Sol.

Nova, which is owned by the Navajo Nation, says part of that space will be used as a training center and business incubator.

The rest will be used for data, including things like movie streaming, data storage for health care providers, and other cloud services.

Schott solar shut down its plant last summer and laid off 250 workers.

Nova could bring 150 high paying jobs back to Albuquerque.

They hope to have the facility renovated by the fall. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
