Judge rules to remove Mendez from ballot

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The New Mexico Supreme Court has upheld a judge’s decision to disqualify candidate Algin Mendez because the Espanola democrat didn’t have enough valid signatures to get on the November ballot.

That leaves democratic state representative Carl Trujillo as the only candidate for the house seat that represents the area between Santa Fe and Espanola

Mendez has a controversial past including being force out of the Rio Arriba Sheriff’s Department after he was caught on tape drunk and head-butting people at Buffalo Thunder Resort.
