WIPP crews continue radiation leak investigation

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Crews are inching closer to the area of a radiation leak at WIPP.

Two teams went back underground Wednesday going the farthest they’ve gone into the facility since the February leak.

They’re checking on contamination, air quality, and the stability of the mine.

They’re also hoping to find out what caused the leak.
