John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Forecast

A nice day is on the way, but winds will be picking up through the afternoon. A storm system passing north will be responsible for that wind and give southern Colorado and far northern New Mexico a shot at snow. Winter Storm Watches are in effect for the northern portions of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, extending across Raton Pass, and into western Union county. The target time for snowfall will be this evening through early Thursday morning.

Additionally, a cold front will drop into eastern New Mexico. This front will cool down areas east of the central mountain chain, but will not make much more westward progress. Temps in central and western New Mexico stay on the mild side.

The workweek ends quietly, but another storm will cross the state over the weekend. This will give more of the state a shot at some showers. Then drier and much warmer weather to start next week.
