I-40 reopens after wreck in Tijeras

TIJERAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Interstate 40 westbound in Tijeras was reopened Wednesday after a major wreck between a semi-truck and a cement truck shut it down.

According to Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department a semi-truck and a cement truck were involved in the wreck and one of the vehicles caught fire at mile marker 175 at approximately 2:20 p.m.

Officials say one person was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The scene was cleared at approximately 7:00 Wednesday evening.

According to investigators the incident is still under investigation. No word yet if charges are going to be filed.
