CURRY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Residents in Curry and Roosevelt counties need to be on alert for a jury duty scheme circulating the area.

The 9th District Court says people are getting calls from someone posing as a court employee.

They reportedly say they failed to report for jury duty and an arrest warrant has been issued for them unless they pay.

But court officials say they never ask for money over the phone.

This scheme is similar to ones reported recently in Albuquerque, Cibola and Sandoval counties. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
