ABQ woman admits to abusing daughter

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A concerned citizen at an Albuquerque grocery store led to the arrest of a woman on child abuse charges.

The person called police after noticing 30-year-old Tessa Potter’s 4-year-old daughter with bruises all over her face and dried blood in her nose.

When officers questioned Potter she admitted she has hit the child with a belt buckle several times, yanks her around by the wrist, puts hot sauce in her mouth when she’s screaming and holds her head under cold water.

The child was treated for several welts and lacerations as well as a fractured collarbone and cheekbone.

Potter is charged with child abuse resulting in great bodily harm.
