TSA offers program to forgo lines

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Tuesday, the Sunport will begin accepting applications for pre-check eligible passengers.

The system allows low-risk passengers to sign up for the program and forgo the lines most passengers have to wait in.

The program is already being used in other airports across the country and has been quite successful.

The TSA says about 18 million people have gone through the system so far.

“So, we’re trying to highlight the fact that it’s here and get passengers to come in and enroll. We’re working to increase the population of TSA eligible passengers,” said TSA spokesperson Nico Melendez.

About 100 airports across the country use the pre-check program.
