Child well being the focus of discussion with Udall

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The wellbeing of kids in New Mexico is on the agenda for a round table discussion Monday.

U.S. Senator Tom Udall says he wants to find ways on the federal level to help families and kids out of poverty.

Officials with New Mexico Voices for Children and Youth Development have been pushing an agenda to do something to turn around the findings of a recent survey that ranked New Mexico last in child wellbeing.

Some proposals involve raising the minimum wage and increasing early childhood education. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
