ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man police say broke into the State Treasurer’s Office could be the reason the capitol city saw a spike in commercial burglaries last month.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, police say 23-year-old James Montoya confessed to two dozen recent commercial burglaries including at medical offices, churches and businesses.
Montoya allegedly stole some electronics from the State Treasurer’s Office.
New Mexico State Police used DNA evidence to link Montoya to the crime.
He’s being held at the Santa Fe County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
