Chris’ Sunday Forecast

An active day of weather is ahead for much of New Mexico later this afternoon into early Monday morning.  A second storm system is going to start moving in this afternoon bringing a good shot for thunderstorms and eventually mountain snow overnight Sunday into Monday.

Northern and eastern New Mexico will be favored for most of the action.  But, there is chance for a shower or two to develop in Albuquerque and along the East Mountains.  If you don’t see any snow or rain, you’re at least going to have to deal with gusty winds once again.  Some areas could have gusts as high as 50 mph in central and western New Mexico, so the fire danger remains very high for much of central and southern New Mexico.  Once this system moves out Monday, temperatures behind it will be much colder and well below average.  We’ll keep you posted.
