Former guardsman pleads guilty to manslaughter

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A national guardsman accused of killing a man is out of custody.

Anthony Baldonado pleaded guilty today to voluntary manslaughter.

Baldonado shot and killed Gilbert Chavez after a disagreement at a northwest Albuquerque home in February 2012.

Wednesday, a judge ordered his GPS monitor removed and he’ll be on supervised probation until sentencing. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
