ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Guard Kendall Williams has an agent. Forward Cameron Bairstow is working on adding one and could have that done by the end of the week. Both of the Lobo seniors are fine tuning their game in the meantime with dreams of playing in the NBA.
Williams is training in California. Bairstow is still in Albuquerque where he will graduate in May. Both players are projected as possible second round picks on various draft boards. Both players also know not to read too much into projections.
When asked about projections Bairstow said, “All the feedback I gotten is that all that draft board stuff doesn’t mean anything. It’s all about what comes out of the GM’s mouth and that kind of thing. It just means your on people’s radar and at the end of the day you have got to go and work out and show what you can do and that is what they are going to be selecting you on,” he said.
After watching former teammate Tony Snell climb up the board and become a first round draft pick last season, Bairstow and Williams are encouraged and think they can make their own climbs if given a chance.
The NBA Draft is June 26.
