NM man wins $2M Powerball prize


ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – After Robert Swartwood of Albuquerque discovered he won $2 million in the Powerball lottery, he said he worked in his yard and read a few chapters from a book about the Civil War.

According to a news release from the New Mexico Lottery, Swartwood claimed his prize Monday, winning $1 million by matching the white ball numbers, and another $1 million with the Power Play feature. The winning ticket was purchased at Duke City Fueling on Carlisle, which will receive $2,500 for selling it.

Swartwood said he plans to share the money with his family and invest in his engineering business, according to the release.
