RRHS’ Barreras places 2nd in National HS Championships

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Rancho High School junior wrestler Miguel Barreras placed second at the national high school championships in Virginia Beach in the 152-lb weight class.

Barreras was in a bracket that had 86 kids in his division, and says the experience will last a lifetime.

So far, he has 7 colleges recruiting him after his performance last weekend. Some of the schools include Oklahoma, Iowa State, and Nebraska just to name a few.

Barreras is a 3.6 student, and is a 2-time state champ for Rio Rancho.
