ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man wanted by Albuquerque police was taken to a local hospital Monday after he was stabbed by an unknown attacker.
According to Albuquerque Police Department, 25-year-old Matthew Chavez was attempting to sell a glass pipe to a group of people in the San Pablo and Central area when he was attacked by one of the individuals.
Police said Chavez sustained stab wound to his arm and back. Chavez was able to get to a market where he asked for help.
He was transported to UNM Hospital where he will be treated for his wounds and released to police custody. APD said Chavez has a warrant for armed robbery.
APD is investigating the incident however, Chavez has not given identifying details about his attackers.
