Officer-involved shooting under investigation

TORRANCE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Another officer involved shooting in New Mexico is under investigation in Torrance County.

State police, the lead agency, says a man in a suspicious vehicle opened fire on a Torrance County deputy and Estancia police officer around 10 Saturday night.

It happened about 10 miles north of Mountainair.

Police say the two officers then shot back, hitting the suspect.

The man was airlifted to UNM Hospital and his condition is stable.
