NMDOT: Slow down and drive safely in work zones

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – And just a reminder while you’re making your way through all the construction in Albuquerque and around the state, slow down and drive safely.

Officials with the New Mexico department of transportation say it’s not just for the safety of construction workers but the safety of drivers as well.

They say in New Mexico last year, five people lost their lives in work zones.

And in 2012, four people were killed in work zone accidents.
