Roswell shooting victims to throw first pitch

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Two very special guests will be throwing out the first pitch for the Topes home opener next week.

The isotopes say Roswell school shooting victims, Nathaniel Tavarez and Kendal Sanders will toss the ceremonial pitches next Friday.

The two were wounded in January by a fellow classmate who fired a shotgun into the bleachers at the Berrendo Middle School gym.

The Topes say Nathaniel and Kendal will be greeted on the field by Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda.

The Isotopes host the Tacoma Rainiers next Friday at seven. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
