Neal’s contract extension offers more protection

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – News 13 has learned Lobo basketball coach Craig Neal’s two-year contract extension gives him more protection if the team goes into the tank.

If UNM fires Neal before 2019 the school has to pay him a million dollar buyout.

That’s two years longer than in the old deal.

The million dollar buyout Neal has to pay if he wants to go to another school does not change.

And his salary stays at $750,000 a year with no bump in the incentives he had already had.
