Officials prepare for upcoming fire season

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Fire officials say they are worried about this year’s fire season so they got together Thursday to prepare for it.

Mayor R.J. Berry said the dry conditions could prompt fire restrictions in the Bosque and other parts of Albuquerque earlier than usual this year.

With a very active fire season expected the goal of Thursday’s meeting was to develop a plan and open lines of communication between the agencies so when there is a wildfire they are ready.

Bernalillo County officials have already put restrictions in place for the next six months.
