EUNICE, N.M. (KRQE) – just months after a middle school shooting rocked Roswell, authorities responded to a tense situation in Eunice.
Wednesday, police responded to the Eunice High School and Middle School after an 8th grader was caught with a gun on campus.
Officials say both the schools were put on lockdown.
Detectives say the boy had a pistol in his back-pack, but it was not loaded.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name.
He’s charged with carrying a deadly weapon on school grounds.
